Original Kurzfassung:
The principle of measuring liquid properties with resonant sensors is introduces together with an overview of devices and potential applications in fluid condition monitoring. The details of the investigated devices are outlined and the theory of fluid interaction is introduced. General design guidelines are sketched and the numerical simulation using finite elements and reduced order methods are presented. The emergence of nonlinear effects at high amplitude vibration leads to additional application domains such as acoustic mixing and particle sizing.
