Original Kurzfassung:
An industrial and cost-effective online quality control method for enamel coatings will be presented. Measurement of coating thickness before curing for enamel powders with nearly 0.5 mm thickness can be done by a heater band to heat the coated sheet moved by a conveyer belt and by measuring the surface temperature with infrared sensors. This shows a sufficient resolution since the heat "pulse" has a duration of several seconds and is long enough to penetrate into the powder. It is also a cost-effective solution since the powder coated sheet-material is already moved by the conveyer belt with a constant velocity and therefore this system needs no additional moving parts.
