Emphasizing direct interaction with teaching materials, as Dewey suggested in the early 20th century, reveals ongoing gaps in higher education. This research test the effectiveness of an AR application, GeoTry, designed to catalog and visualize 3D geometries for secondary education. Using a PBL approach, the app includes a feature that challenges students to draw geometries themselves. Working solo or in groups, students build knowledge through hands-on design, comparing their work with example catalogs. Tested in higher education, the app has shown positive effects on engagement, as well as the speed and quality of learning.
