In Europe the terms migration and Africa often seem connected with illegal migration. People associate this movement with tiny boats that hardly transport their passengers across the open sea ? including a tremendous number of human losses. It is widely unknown in Europe, that most of the African refugees actually never leave the continent. Migration poses a serious problem in Africa itself ? and a huge portion of this human stream is conflict-related. In different situations this led to a vicious circle: refugees trigger new conflicts. For refugees and IDP?s the global socio-economic crisis was/is no reason to leave but an additional problem to survive their flight. This presentation will focus on the actual situation of conflict related migration in Africa.
