Sprache des Tagungstitel:
The simulation of the fluorescence radiant flux at the surface of a polymer melt strand containing fluorescent pigments will be presented in this contribution. Beer-Lambert?s law will be used to calculate the radiant flux of the distributed light source and subsequently simulate the fluorescence radiant flux at the surface of the melt cylinder. Material optical parameters were experimentally determined. The ultimate aim is to measure the degree of mixing in an extruder as well as the resulting inhomogeneities. The characteristics of the resultant surface fluorescence distribution can be used in the analysis of extruded polymer melt. The simulations should show if it is possible to inversely calculate inhomogeneities of the polymer melt if different shapes of surface distribution are observed.
