The use of optimization techniques is becoming essential to address rapidly increasing stringency of requirements for automotive systems. While traditionally approaches based on some degree of heuristics have been pursued, now the use of systematic methods is becoming more and more common. However, even systematic methods can be developed and applied in a large number of forms.
Against this background, this workshop aims to bring together different specialists in optimization theory and methods and in application fields inside the automotive community to foster an exchange of information and an open discussion between representatives of different areas and approaches about possible limits and necessary next steps.
