The survey is strictly invitation-only; Universities cannot make nominations or supply contact lists, and individuals cannot nominate themselves for participation. Selection is based on the record of research publication and representation of peers in both discipline and country. The headline results of the survey will first be published in the form of the influential THE World Reputation Rankings in 2024, and will inform the outcome of THE's World University Rankings 2025.
