Original Kurzfassung:
Human-robot interaction as a discipline is becoming more popular and psychological research within this field is of growing interest and demand. However, as psychology itself is a pretty diverse scientific field, also psychological research within HRI is heading in many directions with different focuses. This symposium on HRI thus aims to give the listeners an impression of different central psychological research questions within the HRI community ? what are central topics, what are current practices, and which are possible future research demands?
The symposium starts with a talk by Martina Mara reporting initial findings from the virtual reality research project ?CoBot Studio? and highlighting interdisciplinary research for trustworthy robots.
Johannes Kraus and colleagues will then present the results of a laboratory experiment, in which the dynamics of a trust-related learning history are explored.
Sandra Siedl and Martina Mara will present first insights from the Austrian research project "ExoBility"in which psychological implications of using exoskeletons as ?wearable robots? are investigated.
Robin Welsch will talk about future directions in proxemics research by summarizing empirical results from virtual reality studies considering the shape, the regulation and maintenance of proxemic spaces.
The symposium ends with a meta-scientific perspective as Benedikt Leichtmann is discussing replicability problems in HRI studies and how HRI research can be improved in this respect.
With the broad coverage of topics, interested researchers will get a good impression in which directions HRI research in German-speaking regions is heading and what open questions need to be addressed in future research.
