Original Kurzfassung:
On Friday, April 23rd the IQD co-organized the 7th INaS-Workshop with over 35 actors from the entire (circular) smartphone industry. The Innovation Network aiming at Sustainable Smartphones (INaS) now represents several larger OEMs, including Samsung Electronics, Gigaset, innovaphone, as well as pioneers Fairphone and Shiftphone. The focus of our 7th workshop session was set on circular business models and product lifetime extension. In particular the various actor roles in circular ecosystems were discussed. A special thank you to our speakers Prof. Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund with an up-to-date research perspective and Jan Dzulko for his inspiring insights on everphone's Phone-as-a-Service.
INaS-workshops also include breakout sessions. This time, participants worked on business models by challenge-owners AfB Group, Deutsche Telekom, and Reconext. This included lively discussions about the various roles of OEMs, circular serviced operators, and the user.
INaS is hosted by the Institute for Integrated Quality Design (IQD) from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz together with the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana University of Lüneburg as part of the BMBF-funded project MoDeSt.
