In variable speed applications, one objective of an
electrical drive system is to maximize efficiency across a wide
torque-speed range. To achieve this, efficiency maps are derived
through simulations or measurements. This work presents the
creation of efficiency maps for motor and inverter based on
dedicated measurements, with a focus on addressing the problem
of varying temperatures during the large number of required
sample points. To obtain representative and reliable efficiency
maps, a method is presented to harmonize all measurements to
a common temperature.
