Original Kurzfassung:
The increasing number of information systems applied within an arbitrary enterprise as well as the enhanced
network facilities available raise the demand
for interoperable environments that change the relationship between legacy systems and modern information
technology from simple coexistence to real integration. Interoperable environments can be characterized by the
degree of distribution, heterogeneity, and autonomy
with respect to the integrated information systems. Any
of these characteristics induces implications on the
security of the total system making the security of interoperable environments a very challenging and important task.
