Solar Fuels ? Breakthrough Innovation in the Renewable Energy Industry
Sprache des Titels:
Jahrbuch Energiewirtschaft 2013
Volatile availability and difficult storage are the main problems of the implementation of solar and wind energy as an essential part of an energy system based on renewable energy sources.
These limitations could be essentially mitigated by ?Solar Fuels? or in a more common sense ?E-Fuels?. Those fuels are based on hydrogen, which is produced through solar or wind generated electricity and further synthesized with CO2 into energy-rich hydrocarbons such as Methane.. In contrast to hydrogen, only those energy products are totally compatible for the existing infrastructure of energy transportation and storage as well as for usual end user technologies.
