Original Kurzfassung:
This paper contends that the combination of F2F meetings, online chats, and SAL tasks produce optimum conditions for language, content, and skills learning, both for academic and work- life development. In addition to these key factors, a collaborative and constructivist environment must be created for both F2F and online components. In connection with this, redefined roles, a sense of place and community of practice, and awareness of culture are also core. To demonstrate this, two language modules will be explored. A discussion of the course design, methodology, and qualitative data from learners will demonstrate how ICT can significantly enhance the language learning process if it is used to provide support and opportunities for further practice, interaction, and feedback. All components must be integrated into a package to encourage and enable learners to reach their goals. Lessons learned will provide reflection on improving teaching practices, whether in the classroom or online.
