Original Kurzfassung:
This special issue targets incremental fuzzy learning methods and related aspects that deal with dynamically changing systems. It intends to draw a picture of the recent advances in fuzzy online learning as a bridge between online ML and DM on one side and fuzzy theory on the other side. The online/incremental learning topic has been attracting the attention of the fuzzy, ML and DM research communities over the recent years. This resulted in the organization of many events such as the 2009 and 2011 International Conference on Adaptive and Intelligent Systems (ICAIS-09, ICAIS-11) and various special sessions on ?evolving fuzzy systems?, ?dynamic learning in non-stationary environments? or ?fuzzy machine learning? topics at the international conferences IEEE International
Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE) 2007, IEEE International Conference on Systems Man and Cybernetics (IEEE-SMC) 2007, European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT) 2009 and 2011, International Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems (IPMU) 2010 and 2012, IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI) 2010, IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications (ICMLA) 2010, 2011 and 2012, as well as the workshops and symposia Evolving Fuzzy Systems (EFS) 2006, Genetic and Evolving Fuzzy Systems (GEFS) 2008, Evolving and Self-Developing Intelligent Systems (ESDIS) 2009, International Conference
on Adaptive and Intelligent Systems (ICAIS) 2009 and 2011, Evolving Intelligent Systems (EIS) 2010 and 2011, IEEE conference
on Evolving and Adaptive Intelligent Systems (EAIS) 2012.
After a thorough review, in sum 15 contributions have been accepted for publication in the special issue.
