This encompassing collective reflection on the European study on 'Strategies of Inclusion: Gender in the Information Society' (SIGIS) attempts to change the gender gap in ICT. Performed by 23 researchers across Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK between 2003 and 2005 and resulting in 48 studies of inclusion strategies, it provides the reader with an understanding of why it is necessary to analyse gender beyond a simplifying binary category - and as a powerful structure in ICT. Moreover, the book offers systematic advice on how to contribute to change through multifaceted efforts of theories of gender and technologies of inclusion.
