Support is a central aspect in the field of e-learning and a basic prerequisite for the successful implementation of appropriate e-learning offers. The basic idea of supervised e-learning consists in the fact that an online-tutor (e-learning tutor) supports one or more learners/students if required. The student has the opportunity to contact the tutor independent of place and time, usually by means of electronic media. In the article at hand a scheme of how online tutors may develop their moderation skills is described and subject to a first evaluation. The prospective tutors could apply and train their moderation skills and reflect upon their experiences in a practical part. For the analysis, the field reports of both, the tutors and the students, who studied by means of e-learning, were evaluated.
