Integration into higher education for print disabled people has been pushed by the possibilities of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the possibilities to get access to the same
information using assistive technologies (AT) at the Man-Machine-Interface (MMI). This paper presents the
service provision system for print disabled students at Austrian universities based in this ICT and AT push.
An institute with full research and teaching tasks has been established which in addition networks service
provision units at different universities to enable a full scaled service provision at all locations. Students with
print disabilities should get the support to be able to study whatever course they want to study and wherever
they want to study – a freedom all other student take for granted.
