Original Kurzfassung:
Today there is a wide range of research disciplines that deal with the creation, administration, maintenance and evalutation of knowledge. In this paper our focus of attention are two established approaches to Knowledge Management Systems - namely superimposed information as well as domain ontologies. Aside from these approaches we also focus on the problems arising with Web Content Management Systems. Since the underlying abstract model of Topic Maps provides a high degree of power and flexibility, Topic Maps can be used to combine these approaches. Moreover, Topic Maps offer a framework supporting the evolutionary construction of computer-based organizational memories.
The presented system architectures have been developed in cooperation with one of the largest Internet sites in Austria as well as with an international admitted lawyer's office.
