Original Kurzfassung:
The PRAIMA exchange project has been devoted to the development and testing of new phase retrieval method in imaging, in particular in interferometric imaging. The Indian partner at IISC in Bangalore has its focus on algorithm developments, the Austrian Partner at JKU had focus on performing the optical tests. We tried our best to achieve the results, however the project was strongly hidden by the Corona pandemic situation. This did not allow us that Indian partners could visit Austrian research facility in project running time. The visit to India was still possible in November 2019 for the project coordinator, Dr. Bettina Heise. This visit gave deep impressions on the research of Prof. Chandra Seelamantula and his team of students, PhDs and PostDocs at SpectrumLat at IISC. The visit could be used to discuss imaging challenges, giving seminars and lectures for students there, joining as well courses and discussing cooperations. In the Corona lockdown period the contact has been kept on to Prof. Seelamantula by online media and emails. Image data and software for advanced reconstruction methods have been mutually exchanged and tested. However, since Indian students had also to leave the campus of IISc and are not returned before March 2022, the planned activities had to be reduced. On the other hand, the scientific interest has been maintained, discussions by emails have been extended and continued and could result finally in a joined Conference contribution at the Austrian-German Image Processing Conference, held online in Sept. 2021.
