Ziel des Projektes WebDok ist die Entwicklung eines prototypischen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsplatzes, der das World-Wide Web
zur computerunterstützten Dokumentation sämtlicher Arbeiten in Lehre und Forschung sowie zum Zugriff auf vorhandene
Informations-und Dokumentationsquellen einsetzt. WebDok umfaßt die folgenden vier Arbeitsschwerpunkte:
- Aufbereitung vorhandener Information (transparenter Zugriff auf Konvertierer nach HTML)
- Filtern und Retrieval von Information (transitiver Zugriff auf Dokumenteninhalte)
- Aktualisierung von Information (automatische Notifikation)
- Verwaltung von Information in aktiven Datenbanksystemen (interaktive Dokumente, Einsatz von Triggermechanismen,
Mehrbenutzerkontrolle)

The goal of this project was to create some kind of "research working place" which
extensively uses the WWW as an aid for the computer-supported documentation of all output
coming from research and teaching. Furthermore, WWW should be used for comfortably accessing
existing information and documentation sources. The following key areas were adressed by this
project:
Conversion of documents into HTML for global export through the Web
Topic-related filtering and retrieval of available information within the Web
Automatic notification and expiration mechanisms
Applications of triggers in document managment systems
