Title:Digital Hydraulics and "Industrie 4.0"Author(s):Reinhard Brandstetter,  Till Deubel,  Rudolf Scheidl,  Bernd Winkler,  Klaus ZemanAbstract:This paper addresses mainly questions about the role of fluid systems, in particular of digital ones, for systems which operate in an Industrie 4.0 environment. Different use cases are taken to identify the role of sub-systems and components of machines and plants and to see the challenges and potentials of an operation with an intensive exchange of information between different systems. It is found that digital fluid systems do not have an intrinsic advantage other than they can be realized as simple (or smart) sub-systems. Since this is anyway expected by potential users the chance that digital systems realized in the industrial practice can support the realization of Industrie 4.0.Booktitle:Proceedings of the Seventh Workshop on Digital Fluid Power, 26-27 February, 2015, Linz, AustriaEditor(s):R.
