Title:Concepts for Lorentz Force Driven Resonators for Inline and Handheld ViscosimetryAuthor(s):Martin Heinisch,  Ali Abdallah,  Erwin Reichel,  Bernhard Weiss,  Bernhard JakobyAbstract:In this contribution, we present an overview on recently investigated miniaturized viscosity sensors enabling vis- cosimetry in the range from 0.1 mPas to some 100 mPas. Such sensors can be used, e.g., for process-monitoring or -control applications. The sensing principles are based on Lorentz force driven oscillators showing significant resonant behavior. There, the shift of the resonance frequency and the damping of the resonance peak (in relation to reference measurements e.g., in air or in another reference liquid) can be related to the investigated liquid. We explain the working principle and give an overview of the benefits and disadvantages of the particular sensor principles.Booktitle:Proceedings of the 13th Mechatronics Forum International ConferencePage Reference:page 632 - 638, 7 page(s)Publishing:2012
