Title:Multi Objective Genetic Optimization of Fast Switching ValvesAuthor(s):Paul Foschum,  Andreas Plöckinger,  Rudolf Scheidl,  Günther Weidenholzer,  Bernd WinklerAbstract:Core components of hydraulic switching technology are fast switching valves. The dynamical characteristics of hydraulic switching systems require switching times of less than 10ms, in advanced systems with a fast response even in the range of 1 to 3 ms. Besides a fast switching such valves have to fulfil other criteria like a high repeating sequence (order of magnitude 100Hz), low production costs and a compact design. To find a solution for all these partly conflictive requirements, a multi objective optimization tool is of great help. This paper gives an overview of a method for such a multi objective optimization of a fast switching valve. The mathematical optimization is controlled by the optimization framework "MagOpt" which is developed by the Linz Center of Mechatronics (LCM) and Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU). It is able to derive the Pareto optimal solution front for systems with several, possibly conflictive objectives using a genetic algorithm.Booktitle:Proceedings of the Fourth Workshop on Digital Fluid Power, 21-22 September, 2011, Linz, AustriaISBN:978-3-200-02377-2Page Reference:page 116-128, 13 page(s)Publishing:9/2011
