Title:Smart Hysteresis Compensation of a Magneto-elastic Force Sensor Based on Terfenol-DAuthor(s):Klaus Oppermann,  Bernd Arminger,  Bernhard ZagarAbstract:In this proposed paper a very simple but smart method to compensate the hysteresis of the sensor signal of a force sensor based on the magneto-elastic-effect is introduced. The compensation is tricky, because it must fulfill some important requirements. First the hysteresis model has to be invertible and the calculation complexity has to be small enough to be calculated by a DSP in realtime. Another important requirement is that the minor-loops of the hysteresis models are closed to prevent signal-drifts. So some hysteresis models known from the literature (e. g. Preisach, Jiles-Atherton, Coleman-Hodgdon) were taken under further investigation. After a detailed analyses an adapted version of the Preisach hysteresis model was implemented and results obtained with this adapted model are presented.Booktitle:I2MTC 2010 - Proceedings of IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology ConferenceISBN:978-1-4244-2833-5ISSN:1091-5281Page Reference:page 662-667, 6 page(s)Publishing:5/2010Series:Conference proceedings - IEEE Instrumentation/Measurement Technology Conference
