Original Kurzfassung:
Microsoft`s Foundation Class Library constitutes a GUI application framework implemented in C++ for the development of Windows applications. Its principal architecture builds on the lessons learned from othe GUI frameworks such as MacApp, ET++ and Interviews. We point out MFC`s core architecture and mechanisms and demonstrate how the adaptation effort is reduced by appropriate tools. A discussion of MFC`s design concludes this contribution. We assume the reader to be familiar with the GUI domain.
